Ski touring in the Salzkammergut

Four classic routes starting right from Hintersee — from a gentle introduction to a solid day tour.

Das Hintersee sits in the heart of the Osterhorngruppe. If you get up early, you have the slopes to yourself. The tours lead through quiet mountain forest and over open ridges — no lifts, no crowds, just your own rhythm.

For beginners there is the groomed practice route to the Loibersbacher Höhe (1,456 m) and an about 3 km section on the Anzenberg, which is also suitable for snowshoers.

Hagan rental & ski bus

Hagan ski touring equipment can be rented right in the house — skins, boots, and poles included. If you arrive without a car, use the free public ski bus, running hourly between 06:00 and 21:00.

After the tour, wet gear goes into the lockable drying room. Then the sauna awaits.
