Discover ski toursWinter around the Hintersee is quiet and close. Snow is reliable here — the Gaissau-Hintersee area is considered Salzburg’s most snow-sure ski area. Those who go ski touring set off from the village straight into the Osterhorngruppe. If you prefer to glide, the trail starts at the hotel door.
The hotel rents Hagan touring skis as well as Kästle cross-country skis and snowshoes with poles. For children and those taking it easy, the hotel’s own toboggan run awaits — 500 metres long, an eight-minute walk away.

The Osterhorngruppe offers routes for different skill levels. The Loibersbachhöhe training trail guides beginners safely to the summit. The partly groomed ski route up the Anzenberg is aimed at more experienced tourers. The hotel runs a Hagan test center — touring skis can be rented and tried out on site.
The extensive trail network around Hintersee and Faistenau covers a total of 70 kilometres of groomed tracks. The trail begins right at the hotel entrance — no drive, no parking. Kästle cross-country skis are available to rent at the hotel.
