Our water. Straight from our own spring.

Since 2022, at DAS Hintersee we bottle fresh spring water in-house — enriched with magnesium, in glass bottles, no PET.

Detail

Where the water comes from

Our own spring is in Hintersee, in the heart of the Salzkammergut. The water is captured on site, treated, and bottled right at the hotel. Short distances, no transport, no unnecessary packaging.

After capture, the water is enriched with magnesium and other minerals. The result: a fresh, lightly mineral drinking water that reaches our guests before it even needs a bottle.

How bottling works

Water treatment runs with technology from BWT, a long-standing partner of the house. The system filters, mineralizes, and bottles — all under one roof. Reusable bottles instead of single-use plastic, in-house instead of bought-in.

Guests who hike up the Anzenberg with their own bottles will find a QR-marked BWT signpost there. A summit photo with #DASHintersee earns a personalized BWT water bottle as a thank-you.

What sets our spring water apart

Magnesium

After capture, the water is purposefully enriched with magnesium — good for muscles and for everyday life in the mountains.

Minerals

Other essential minerals are added during treatment. Not distilled water, but a lively drink.

BWT treatment

The filtration technology comes from BWT, a long-standing house partner. Reliable quality, maintained continuously.

Your own bottles welcome

Guests may bring and fill their own reusable bottles. No surcharge, no hassle.

No PET

At DAS Hintersee there is no plastic bottled water. We bottle only in glass or reusables.

Since 2022

Our own bottling plant has been in operation since 2022. A concrete step to reduce plastic waste in the house.

Water is not a luxury in Hintersee — it comes from the mountain, is treated here, and drunk here. No truck, no pallet of PET bottles, no middleman. What guests have in the glass has taken the shortest possible route.

Good water doesn't need a long journey. It just needs to be treated well.
